The Boats We Use For Training.

Frequently, many students are frustrated by what must be to them the wrong boat for their needs, and not forgetting their likes and dislikes. Some candidates/students even fail their practical tests & examinations, simply because they cannot get to grips with the boat.

The maxium number of candidates students is 5 per instructor, per boat. On some courses, we only have 4. This is to ensure that all candidates/students receive the correct amount of instruction and undertake all the practicals.

Depending on the time of year, the course being undertaken, the number of students on the course as well as their general experience, we try to match the right boat to the right type of student for the right course. (within reason and wherever possible.)

For the IYT Yacht Master Offshore courses, the theory modules are taken separately from the practical modules, in an IYT standards approved classroom.

For the IYT Yacht Master Coastal courses, both the theory and practical modules are done aboard the boat.

For the IYT International Bareboat Certificates recreational courses, both the theory and practical modules are done aboard the boat.

Unlike many training establishments, we do not just have one boat to offer you, but several different types, at different locations. All the boats are fully equiped, insured and meet all the relevant international safety standards to the highest standards, as specified by IYT.
