Our Location.
| We
have three operation bases, which we run courses from. |
Vitoria,
north coast. Barcelona, mediterranean. Palma
Mallorca, mediterranean. |
 |
|
About our bases.
Vitoria: is where our adminstration offices and theory
classrooms are based. Vitoria, in the region of Alava, is
located 50km (30 miles) inland on the north coast of Spain.
Some of the theory courses are undertaken there as well as all
the STCW'95 safety courses. Palma-Mallorca and Barcelona:
is where all our practical courses and the related theory
courses are undertaken.
|
Where can I stay ?
Theory courses and STCW95 safety courses: For all courses
in Vitoria, and the related theory courses for the practical
courses undertaken in our bases at Barcelona or Palma Mallorca,
we can arrange on your behalf, accomodation locally. Depending
how much you want to spend, we can find you a basic small hostel
to a luxury five star hotel. Generally speaking the quality of
the accomodation in Spain, is good and quite inexpensive for
short stays.
Practical courses: Unless you specify otherwise, we
assume that you will be staying aboard the boat during the
duration of these courses. This is free of charge.

Is there anything to do locally in or around Vitoria ?Besides
museums, art galleries, theaters; there are many good
restaurants and bars, and high quality shops; as well as a very
lively spanish night life at the week ends. (which we try not to
encourage to much, for obvious reasons!) About 100km (60
miles) south of Vitoria, is the wine region of "La Rioja"
which is famous for it´s classic wines and it is possible
to arrange visits to "bodegas" for sampling. During
the winter months, it is possible to ski in the Pyrenees about
3'00" drive away and there are extensive lakes, mountains
for treking close by to Vitoria. Going 50km (30 miles) north
to the coast, there are spectacular cliff backed beaches,
including surfing ones as well as further along the coast, the
spectacular towns of San Sebastian, Biarritz to the east; and to
the west Santander.
