An non-stop qualifying ocean passage of at least 600 Nm, of which 400 Nm has to be at least 150Nm from land.
During the ocean passage, you must have acted as captain, skipper or watch keeper. And also you had taken a full part in the navigation and passage making decisions.

What Can I Professionally Command ?

The following tables are for all power and sail yachts under 3000GT, but EXCLUDE square rigged sail vessels.
Instructions to use these tables.

1. Look up length of vessel.

2. Is the vessel UNDER 24 metres loadline length?

3. If under 24 metres loadline length, refer to "Table 1".

4. If over 24 metres, use "Tables 2-4".

5. Now look up the yacht´s intended maximum operating distance from a safe haven.
Notes to these tables.

The command position held aboard by a person holding an qualification is generally affected by....
the yacht´s length, the yacht´s gross tonneage, the yacht´s intended maximum operating distance from a safe haven.
In addition, the following can also have affect....
the flag registry rules, the useage of the yacht, the insurance company requirements and the demands by the actual owners.
Finally and above all, the persons sea-time, experience, knowledge and personal references.
